You know it's cold outside when...

Ok, here's my list in response to this very cold whether:

You know it's cold outside when...

    10.  Your taxi driver asks you if you made a collect call to the cold weather
    9.  The newscaster warns people that "no matter how young or old you are, standing out by the Bear's field on Sunday is not a good idea!"
    8.  Your curtains are stuck to your window on the inside due to condensation which has formed a freezer at the bottom of the window.
    7.  Your car utterly refuses to change gears unless you warm it up first.  And it protests by screaming loudly when not warmed up.
    6.  You experience your forehead hurting for the first time in your life due to the fact that it is the only part of your body exposed to the cold.
    5. You see what looks like confetti floating in the sky because it is too cold to form actual snow...they are ice particles.
    4.  You highly doubt the existence of "Global Warming" in times like these
    3.  You long  for days when it will be in the low 20's
    2.  You can use your back porch as a backup freezer for weeks at a time
    1. You wear thick shoes, two pairs of socks, four sweaters, two pair of gloves, ear muffs, scarf wrapped around twice, coat and hood...all to walk two city blocks away.

Well, that's my experience...wanna add any more to the list? I think we should send something in to the late-night shows...

    Stay WARM!

    It's been a while...

So, it has definitely been a while, but since I enjoy so much reading updates about other peoples lives on xanga, maybe someone will appreciate mine

I'm at home right now, finally after 8 hours of work and voice practice right after.  It makes a long day when you start at 1 p.m.  But I love my job! I work for an 86 year old lady basically doing whatever she would like me to do.  Tonight I was helping her son put together things for her tax returns.  I think this job was just what God had in mind for me -- not monotonous like nannying might have been, and not too strict schedule-wise so I can still take voice lessons and participate in church activities!

Tonight was exciting as I was in PJ's (the older lady I work for) apartment when there was a downtown tornado warning...VERY unusual to have downtown!  But was made it even more interesting is the PJ lives on the 46th floor of the Water Tower apartments right next to the Hancock Tower.  So, for about 20 minutes, I had to stay in her kitchen, away from the windows so I wouldn't get hurt if anything blew in

Well, this entry wasn't as long as I would have wanted, but I have a bazillion things going on in my apartment, so it's kinda hard to stay focused...

    Later,

    Heather
